Dakota's Journey

Meet Dakota. Dakota was hit by a car one week prior to this photo above. She was badly bruised and had a severe injury to her right front leg. Do to unknown reasons she did not receive the medical treatment she needed. As a result of this her right front leg became infected with gangrene. This left the leg unusable and rotting with bones exposed. This is when Pug Rescue of Florida came into her life. She was surrendered and finally received the medical attention she desperately needed. The doctors were not able to save her deteriorating leg and agreed it would be best to amputate.

After many days in the hospital she was well enough to go into foster care. For the first time in over a week, she was able to rest comfortably.  She did not have to worry about pain, food or getting the attention she needed. She was safe in the hands of Pug Rescue of Florida.

Weeks after her surgery she has recovered better than anyone could have expected! She runs and plays with her new friends, no one would ever guess she has only three legs.

This little girl is the sole reason why Pug Rescue of Florida exists. To give pugs a second chance of having the best life possible.
