Pugsgiving 2008

Mark your calendars Pug friends, Pugsgiving 2008 is on the way! If you have never been to Pugsgiving it is one of the things you MUST do this fall. It is always a wonderful time for the whole family. Plus, where else can you see a sea of Pugs of all shapes and sizes!? If you go once, I promise you it will become a family tradition. This year Pugsgiving is being held across from Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. There will be plenty of shade and water for your Pugs. With food and games for Pugs and their families.

Arrive early for door prizes, silent auction, and game sign up. This is where the early Pugs gets the biscuits. Kinda like the early bird gets the worm, only much better.

See you there!

Ice Cream Treats For Pugs

Well actually this frozen treat can be made for any dog, we just like Pugs around here. If you've ever purchased Frosty Paws you know how much Pugs love them. You'll also know just how much they cost, especially if you have a multi dog household like I do. So here is a fabulous recipe I found, it's easy and good for your Pugs too. The original recipe came from PetnBlog.

32 ounces vanilla yogurt (I used Stonyfield Farm, there is no added sugar in it & it's all natural.)
1 mashed banana or 1 jar of baby fruit
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
Blend all together and freeze in either 3 ounce paper cups or ice cube trays. Microwave just a few seconds before serving.

I used the above cupcake pan, it is made out of silicone. It's great you can freeze the treats w/out a cupcake liner & they pop out very easy.

Precious Lives Saved

This video is composed of just a few of the precious pugs that have been given a second chance. Their new life has been made possible because of the dedicated volunteers of PROoF and the countless donations made by generous hearts. Thank you!

Dakota's New Family

Last weekend Dakota found her forever home. It was a very exciting day for everyone. Her new mommy drove all the way up to Tampa from South Florida. She brought along her two dogs: Baxter & Bella. Everyone got along well from the moment they all met. Bella was a little timid, but her mom says that's her nature.  Now you see in the photo below, Bella and Dakota are best of friends.

It took quite a few tries to get everyone in one photo, but it finally happened.
Bella is on the left, then Dakota & her pug brother Baxter. Her new mom tells us that everyone piles in with her at night, she even has a ramp for them to get up on the bed.

Looks like Bella has come out of her shell. She and Dakota like to run in the back yard and wrestle on the floor.
